Gigantic tree fell on our coop

Same here. I am glad you said this because we are currently househunting in the NY southern tier and I wondered. The realtor we are working with didn't know. In fact, that is where we were when we saw the footage of the tree falling and rushed home. It was a long day.
I know what you mean, Im sore from all the cutting and cleaning up jus glad the chickens were ok!

My dumbself only had liability since she only drives it about 20 miles a week tops.. didnt expect a tree to fall on it..

***EDIT*** - subsequent posts below have shown my thoughts in this post to be false. Sorry.

Check your policies closely. Home owners insurance may cover damage to whatever gets damaged on the property. So, the car very well might be covered by a home owners property. For example, if somebody else's car was parked at your house and damaged by a falling tree, that would be something your home owner policy should cover. And it's likely no different for your own car.

Primarily, auto insurance is just for damage that happens while DRIVING your car.

I checked its not covered on home owners insurance. It needed to be on comprehension auto to claim it :/

Luckily Im getting a new wieldshield istaled today for $312 after tax. A new hood and fender is being shipped out for $400. I know a local guy who will paint it fairly cheap compared to the larger autoshops. So I'll only be out about $1,000 tops. The fender and roof of car will still have a few small dents but at least the majority of the damage will be fixed 👍

good to hear it won't be too terrible. sometimes if it wasn't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all!
