Hello everyone! I haven’t been able to do an updated because I DIED with bronchitis! Poor Gil had to take a few days to just lounge with me.
However super excited to announce, we’re building her a run so she can have an outdoor space for her baby pool and to eat watermelon or pumpkins! It will make a great place to let her hangout outside during nice weather but of course she will still always be on the same property as me and I will always be able to see her. Of course she would NEVER EVER sleep outside. She only likes sleeping inside and that’s how we’ll keep it!
Gil is doing great! I thought she was getting ready to molt but she actually just dropped a few feathers and then decided it wasn’t molting time yet.
One thing I am concerned about is I will be headed on vacation from June 14th-19th and of course I planned to bring her but then everyone was like we’re renting a beach house you must be out of your mind to think you’re bringing a duck. Whoops, guess I’m crazy. I only considered Gil’s dads sister as a Gil sitter and asked her, but she’s gone on vacation for 3/5 the days I’m gone. I guess I’ll have to get my grandmother on board with Gil sitting! I already have my lists printed of ducky do’s and dont’s along with safe and non safe food lists. I even printed up a mini medical list of supplements and quick fixes for small issues that you might run into with a duck. Obviously I will be in full contact with my grandmother the WHOLE time but this will be my first time really away from Gil for any amount of time. No worries for her because her schedule will stay the same while I’m gone but I hope she doesn’t get too mad at me.
Anyways, I will make another update before I leave and I cannot wait to give you guys Gil’s reaction after not seeing me for 5 nights. I might cry!!!!
Here’s the good stuff!!!
Someone got their very own omelette for breakfast when had them for breakfast! Egg and lettuce, yum!
Just a little trip to a friends store!
This was a trip to the creek but we drove to a new spot of it for Gil instead of just the section in our backyard! When the weather started to get bad, I had to convince both of them to leave because I was so sick!!!
We always have bath time pictures!
And finally, someone got their very own baby pool.
I am going to get Gil a huge 55 or 75 gallon trough that can be kept in her run so she can do a little diving! Hopefully the run can be done as soon as we get back from the beach. After the run, we just need a more permanent flooring option for under her pen and we’ll be set!

she would only stay in it when I sat next to her. She made it clear she highly prefers the creek but hey, it's not like I can't sit outside next to the baby pool sometimes. I also don't like going to the creek without Gil's dad because I'm just as scared of the predators and I don't want to fist fight a canadian goose off so I can use it during those times!
