Gil’s World - We bought a boat!

Hello all!! Gil’s doing great, so happy! We haven’t been back out on the kayaks recently because we bought a boat! We’ve been having so much fun out on the boat and Gil is living her best life! GilDoes a great job at staying pretty still in her bin on the boat when we need her to stay still and other than thatShe really enjoys her days out on the boat in the nice weather. We have a harness on the way in the mail from party foul pets. Once the harness comes in I will let GilFree swim on the lake more often. The only issue is when we want to leave and need to get her back on the boat, she doesn’t like to come back until she’s ready. I’m just going to use the retractable dog leash and clip that onto her harness when she goes out so if I need to I can pull her back in to leave. I got an ID tag for her that I will attach to a harness once it comes. Enjoy the pictures, i’ll work on getting better ones!

We have a harness for when need to pull Gil back on the boat to leave. When we don’t have a time restriction and it is safe we let her swim freely and she stays by the boat and quacks happily at us. When she’s done swimming she’ll come right back to the side of the boat. Most of the time I get worried about snapping turtles (were in lakes) and use the harness/leash to confine her to directly next to the boat. The harness kind of sucks but the custom one from party fowl should be here soon!!!! Gil loves swimming and eats whatever is duck friendly that we have while out. Today was egg off our sandwiches and watermelon. (Don’t worry I’m really careful to avoid salt, sugar, additives etc.) We go out every Saturday morning and all day Sunday. So much fun, incredible views.

The first time we went out I thought, “oh does the duck need sunblock” but I figured the chemicals or whatever can’t be good for her and plus ducks live outside so no sunblock for Gil, but we do keep an extra life jacket on deck
