We just got sent some pics of Caly from the rescue. These are of her and 6/7 kittens from her litter before we got her. All the babies went to homes

Ahh!! I was thinking she sounded like a fresh momma. That's probably why she got the sudden wave of distance from you in the beginning also. She realized she was safe here, but also that her kittens were gone.

One of our cats often brings little lizards in, what we call bluetails, which are usually intact except for their missing tails. I don't think she has any intention of eating them, I think they are just toys. We take them away and release them outside. I say "them," it could be "it." She could be catching the same one over and over again!

Blue tailed lizards where the tail drops off are juvenile "5 lined skink" very cute little things.
