What the heck of all places to not allow chickens! We can have chickens in Newark/San Jose/Mountain View/Campbell/ San Francisco. Almost everywhere in the bay area. I'm planning on purchasing a home in Gilroy 7000 square feet corner lot Zoned R3. I'm almost considering not purchasing this house. So, I'm looking for someone or a group who is trying to change this law.

There are other chicken owners on here from Gilroy. Hopefully you can get some info from some of them.

I say no chickens no sale!

That's me though. LOL

I'm surprised at that. Two different chicken people have told me about a poultry farm in Gilroy that accepts rare breed cockerels and roosters. Maybe they are only allowed where it is zoned for it. I would try to change that ordinance! Good luck.

Yes but usually in the Decoto area or the Bay side of Union City Blvd. Although someone in my old neighborhood had them for years and I lived in Casa Verde.

I don't mean to be nosy, but how did you like living in Union City? I'm trying to buy a house is there an area I should avoid? Thanks!
