I would like to purchase ginger nut rangers in the US. I once mail ordered some from Omlet, a British company, and they were the best chickens I have ever had. They were absolutely the most child friendly and layed huge brown eggs 300 days. They are cross between rode island red and another chicken, but they cannot be mail ordered through Omlet any longer. Any ideas?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry, don't know of anyone in the US with them besides Omlet, there are plenty of other Red Sex Link hybrids available in the US though which should be comparable (Red Stars are my personal favorites), you might check with your local feed store, this time of year most of them will carry RSLs in one form or another.

I'm glad you joined us.

I've never heard of Ginger Nut Rangers before, but they must have been nice birds!

I found this on the omelet website. At least it answers what the cross is. Common enough, I would think.
