one of my ameraucanas has a mini comb at 3 weeks. She is the only one to have bumpies like that. The other girls have a flat spot there. Does this mean I have a roo?

It's really hard to tell with pea combs. One of my females has a big red one but if one is going to be a roo I would keep my eye on that one. Is it supose to be a hen or did you hatch it yourself?

I got them at tsc in a straight run bin but I was taught how to sex them by the feathers on their wings so I went through them all and picked out the girls. Maybe I could of picked a roo on accident.

the sign said ameraucanas and I'm assuming they come from a hatchery so why wouldn't they be real?

None of the big hatcheries carry real Ameraucanas. They sell colourful crossbreeds of Ameraucana heritage that lay all sorts of coloured eggs. The crossbreeds are usually dubbed easter eggers since they can lay any colour egg anywhere from brown to green to blue and white.
EEs are great layers of many eggs and most of the times have great personalities and unlike the real Ameraucanas you never know what colour they end up being until they are all grown up(I think most people love that the most about'em).

Real Ameraucanas on the other hand should only lay blue to minty green eggs and come in 8 recognized colours and adhere to a set standard.
Also they are only available at private breeders.
