My first go at raising chicks. Bought them at 4 weeks old, now they are 13 weeks old. We were told they were all pullets but some are looking a little manly. Any thoughts ?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! You might want to post pictures in the What Breed/Gender forum for help with figuring out what you have www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this from what I can see in that pictures, none of them are screaming rooster, usually by 13-14 weeks the males would have a lot more comb/wattle development.

Closeup photos of the face/comb would help cement judgement. They do appear to be girls at this point and very pretty ones.

Here is what helped me see the pic better:
under picture click on "original" (lower right corner)
click on the part of the picture you want to magnify

Of course, since I know so little about chickens I can't help you out even with magnification.

They look like pullets to me.
I am also assuming they are RIR's and as chicken breeds go RIR's are fairly fast growers so at 14 weeks you'd expect to be able to easily identify roosters.

Welcome to BYC!

I agree with the above posters...looks like pullets to me. They are going to start to grow wattles and combs pretty soon. I am not seeing any signs of rooster yet.

Enjoy these lovely birds and welcome to our flock!
