Girls are extremely aggressive tonight

Discussion in 'Raising Baby Chicks' started by emsdial911, Aug 6, 2010.

  1. Went to check on the girls tonight and everyone was running around, flapping, and posturing on each other. I have never seen them be this aggressive, even my daughters little silkie was taking on chicks twice her size. They have more than enough room. Is this normal? I know they create a pecking order but this was like an all out brawl.

My 3 week olds were doing that yesterday when I took them out to the run. Chest bumping, chasing, acting crazy. I thought they had all lost their minds, but later they were dozing in the coop together, so it must just be pecking order activity.
