Girls Behaving Badly

Have 6 RIR that are about 6 months old and have not laid yet. We are patiently waiting for them to lay, but we are experiencing some behavioral problems from our flock (Dubbed by the kids, "The Flock of Witches"). The hens are not overly violent towards us, however 2 often challenge our authority. By this I mean they make shows of threat or even go so far as to climb up on my boot and give me the "evil eye". Any suggestions, other than a swift kick.

Pick them up and walk around with them. Let them know who is boss. Or get a good roo that can put them in line.

Pick them up and hold them, and the more they struggle, the more you hold on.
