I would definitely keep the hen. I bet she'll climb up the pecking order after awhile and be a nice addition. I wish you lived in Central Texas. I have a very nice Buff Orpington Australorp cross Cockerel that needs a good home. He looks like a pure Buff Orp. He's very big for 14 weeks and he's extremely tame. My 2 1/2 year old grand daughter can walk up to him and pet him. He'll end up on Craig's list before too long.

That's the problem I am having . All the good roosters are so far from me.

I am going to see one Saturday that may work out that I found on craiglist .
