Well I let the girls into the garden this morning, with Lucy. They where not bothered by the dog and she loved being with the chickens. It took me a while to get them in the run again if I let them out for longer will they go back into the coop on their own or am I going to have to put them in? I had to put them back in at 4pm as I am night shift and leave the house at 6. So I want them safe away as we do have foxes and can't leave the door open for them to go in on their own.

They should go in by themselves when it gets dark, so if you are only letting them out for a few hours a day, do it in the afternoon.

Well I let them out this morning at 12:00 and its now 815pm and they all walked into the coop to go to bed. Well all but one I had the back open to count the ones already perching and she decided why walk all the way round when you can just hop inside and go to bed.

I had the garden cleared but it needs a major weeding that I haven't been able to do as the weather has been wonderful and sunny on my work days (and I can't do gardening after 12 hour shift) and tipping it down with rain when I have been off.

You gotta love those logical thinking chickens. I like your coop-what I could see of it!
