my chickens got water and food outside the coop and inside. all they do is lay on the ground under the coop. is this normal?????

They will if they are hot

is there a way to cool them or are they OK????????

I don't know what state you are in so I don't know how hot ot is there. How hot is it? Are they panting? If they are panting they are hot, they dig down in the dirt to stay cool, you can put ice in thier watereer, but a sprinkler on for them, or mist them yourself, place frozen water jugs around for them to sit by, place a fan so it blows on them(I place mine outside the fence so know one can get injured or knock it over) lots of things you can do if they are too hot
