?give broody chicken day old chicks to raise?

My hen Lucy has been broody so we got some fertilized eggs from the farmer down the road( we don't have a rooster).
It is day 23 now and no sigh of chicks. Lucy has done such a great job sitting on her nest I wonder if I could slip in a couple of just hatched chicks ( from the farm store) ?
I feel bad for her after all the work she has done not to have any results.
Also, If I take away her eggs will she stop nesting and get back to normal?

i'd try, but when you do that you just never know what the outcome will be, is there other chickens with her? if so i wouldnt do that, if you do just keep a close eye on them
