Giving fodder to hens amidst H5N1

Mid 60s overnight, high 80s during the day. Two weeks of this to cook it off, right? My "feels like" temp is 97 - yay, FL Humidity.

Amazing, right? But the grit from the store is way too small, so the birds are eating a lot of it, rather than the larger pieces that they can get off the ground.

I get bags of tube sand from any home improvement store. It's cheap and has lots lots of pea sized and bigger stones in it. I just dump half a bag in the run once in awhile. Chickens love it. Personally I think the grit you get for poultry is to course. Tube sand pebbles are the same as ones you would find when processing free range birds.

If the fodder is all grown indoors, I don't see how there's a risk.
