Giving Hen Bath

I raise Silkies, and with all of the rain they are getting really dirty. If I give my hen a warm bath and blow dry her will it mess up her egg laying?

Most likely no, unless your hen really freaks out at being put in water. Most chickens enjoy a warm bath and will sit still as if in a trance.

Ok, thanks. They have had a bath before, but that was before they were laying regularly anyway. They do love there bath! Once one tried to roll in the water!

Usually mine just sit in the water with a relaxed look on their face. They've even almost fell asleep!

Well, I gave all of my White hens a bath yesterday. They all laid eggs today, so I guess giving them a bath does not mess up their egg laying

They behave really well. They seem to like their bath, but they really like being blow dried! Now they smell good

My Silkie absolutely loves it. The shower and the blow dry. She doesn't make a fuss at all
