OH how exciting. I am hoping one of my hens go broody but not to sure if they will or the type that do. They are RIR's, red Plymouth rocks and 1 buff.

be nice to see momma raise some chicks. this is my first time hatching and its going pretty well.

i know what you mean i am only 1 week tomorrow into my eggs being in the bator is its driving me crzy already. I WANT TO HEAR CHIRPING LOL. sorry didn't mean to yell really just stating a point. Oh and egg rolling will be good to but have another 2 weeks or so to go and so far so good here i hope.

It really went fast for us but today is horrible!

I just checked on the babies and mamma is still sitting tight. The pips look much bigger and I see a teeny tiny beak poking out. Too cute. I am hopeful that I'll wake up and see some cute little fuzzy butts.

The new CHICKS are here!!

I just checked on mamma Nugget and I saw at least one fuzzy butt, possibly 2 and one baby still looked a bit wet! It is raining and still dark here so I'll give her some time to wake up before I go snuggle and cuddle.

Last night I had to have 2 glasses of wine to relax. What an amazing process! I am in awe of this whole life thing.

so............. here's the plan.
I'm not comfortable with the babies being in our regular coop as it has a 2 feet drop to the ground. They are all locked up there now with mamma, but she's going to need to get out occasionally. Well, we have this huge old console t.v. in our garage that really needs a new life and I am thinking Brooder! I can't wait to get it going!

T.V. Brooder is finished and mamma and babies are nice and cozy. We are getting a big ugly storm tonight so they are on the back porch until we can get a better spot. It's too late for pics so I'll post them all tomorrow. What a long day!
