Glad I don't have an incubator....

    This last evening, we had a severe thunderstorm at about 10PM... power went out at 10:30PM and it just came back on... 12:40AM July 4th. We had some REAL fireworks here last night! It sounded like a tornado.

    Do hens leave their nests for that long?... it's been too long since I've been on the farm.

    No, they don't usually leave their nests for that long, but I've had longer power outages and still had a good hatch. It does stress a person out tho when it happens!!

    I had one in early spring the temp was 35 . She stayed off 5 hr they hatched just fine.
