My husband and I are so looking forward to getting chickens soon! We are closing on a house with some land in a few weeks and while I've been doing a lot of research, I still have a LOT of questions. I'm so glad to find a resource with so many knowledgeable people willing to share their insight :)

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congrats on getting your chicken adventures started in a few weeks time. The learning centre is a great place to start, here is the link of you have not already checked it out ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
Lots of super articles on getting going with your chicken journey. Do you have any breed/s in mind yet?

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future, I hope your move goes well. Be sure to ask all the questions you need to, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on Yorkshire coop; if you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your house with your land and your flock.

Welcome to BYC. Hope you have checked the legality of a chicken flock at your new address. Acreage isn't always enough to meet restrictions.

No breeds chosen yet...trying to determine which will fare best in the very hot and humid SC summers.
