Hi there from the South Shore of Nova Scotia!!

Started with chicks back in 2012 after having them as a kid. Got 12 australorp chicks (only got 3 pullets) lol ! Then the sister-in-law found and hova-bator at a yard sale for $5 and gave it to us and our addiction was born!!!! Yeah great deal huh!!

We then seen an add for Basque Hens got some hatching eggs and had to put an addition to our coop! Then we really got addicted and built a new building 18*20 that we just finished a month ago!!!

So glad that we are invited to join this site, want to learn and share all we can!!

Funny you should mention the Basque hens, I hadn't heard of them before and this is the second time in a week someone has mentioned them (I had to google the first time).

I know what you mean, when we first heard of them in 2013 we had to do some research. We have the Euskal Oiloa Marraduna's. They have to be the most friendly chicken known. You feel the love everytime you go around them and have to shuffle your feet not to step on them!

Oh my redsoxs you have given me a link for the E.O.'s that will have me going for the rest of the winter, have to admit I got 12 pages in and cheated and had to peak and the last few, then I found one on hatching and well now I am not sure if I will get anything done this winter except this!! Ha Ha
