Hello,
Just joint BYC and want to introduce myself. My name is Christopher and I just got my first chicks this past week! I have thought about chickens for a couple years now and last fall I pulled the trigger and started building my coop in anticipation for chicks this spring. My coop is 8' x 8' with a run that is 8' x 12' all with a continuous roof, except a 6' x 6' area that is covered by hardware cloth (which also covers all sides). I have 19 chicks, 2 white Leghorns, 2 Easter Eggers, 2 light Brahmas, 3 Rhode Island Reds, 9 silkies, and a random yet to be identified bird that they threw in as an extra. I live in upstate NY and glad to be on BYC! Thanks

Welcome to BYC!
Be careful on space. You are at max. Should have 4 sq ft per bird in coop and 10 sq ft per bird in run. Need to expand run space. This helps with pecking order issues and health of birds.
