Hello! My name is Pam and I am "mom" to 2 kiddos (son 9 and daughter 7), 2 horses, 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 Bearded Dragons, 3 fresh water aquariums, and now 9 chickens! I am also a loving girlfriend (haha) to Jerry and a "step mom" to his son, age 14.
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? YES! We just got the chickens about a month ago. We are animal lovers and live on 10 acres. So why not?!
2) How many chickens do you have right now? 9
3) What breeds do you have? OK. So I admit...I'm a newbie and could have this COMPLETELY wrong. lol
Hens
1. Bantam Cochin Frizzle- white- Tiffany (about 1 year old)
2. Bantam Cochin Frizzle- black- Nancy (about 1 year old)
3. Silkie smooth- white- Bloom (hatched Dec 2013)
4. Silkie- grey- Liz (hatched Dec 2013)
5. Silkie- black- Sally (hatched Dec 2013)
6. Mille Fleur d'Uccle- bigger comb- Millie (about 6 months)
7. Mille Fleur d’Uccle- smaller comb- Fleur (about 6 months)
Roosters
1. Bantam Cochin Smooth- mottled- Han (about 1 year old)- carries frizzle gene
2. Bantam Cochin Smooth- golden lace- Dave (about 6 months)
4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Our friend who has chickens told us
5) What are some of your other hobbies? Horseback riding, gardening, beach, boating
6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I work in Human Resources for a large healthcare system. We live in Grand Rapids, MI.
