They may not remember when it began, but we can see how it changes their future. I was lucky enough to have a flock before she was born.As soon as she was steady on her feet, she was collecting eggs.
There are so many benefits to having poultry, but the way it benefits the children is the most important. Keep up the good work!![]()
Hi!HI there
We are located 2 hrs N of Toronto in Canada. We have been hen farmers for 4 years. Our flock is Rhode Island Reds with Red sex links. We have 24. No rooster. (yet). We started this hobby for our daughter to learn and have responsibilities. We started when she was 4. She feeds, cleans, sells eggs and pays for the feed herself and what ever is left over she banks the money. She loves her "Golden Girls"! Has named them and follow her wherever she goes in the pen! It's amazing to them interact with her. We love them dearly!
Thanks so much! Best pets ever!Hi!Welcome to BYC! That is such a sweet vision of your young daughter with her golden girls. It is so easy to fall in love with chickens.
