GLUE Question???

I read once on here that someone had used gorila glue to seal a crack on a egg. *sighs*

well i just droped a egg and it landed on a egg i had just set today. It cracked but the membran did not tear, so i took and smeared a thin layer of gorila glue over the cracked area.

You can use a little candle wax to seal a crack too.

i'd not use gorilla it is a foam action that releases formaldahyde fumes. we use white school glue very light with a piece of tissue paper over top of crack.

I had soemthing happen like that, I melted crayon wax onto it--it hatched. Figure crayson wax is nontoxic, I just heated it over the egg with a match and let it drip on the crack.

me neither i asked dh cause i knew it foamed if it would work and he told me that. he is a certified welder and has used it on the jobs in mass quanity that's how he knew. needless to say the bottle got moved from the top of the fridge to locked up i got kid's. i didn't know it was toxic to a point or fumed!!

he said it comes from the chemical reaction when water hits it about a half hour after it is wet. on the jobs they used a special activator to expand it more and mixed it with water then the gorila glue. then they used it for train tankers as insulation.

I was wondering if this would work for a cracked egg under a broody hen? It is cracked down both side's and looks like another egg was dropped on it.

I have used clear nail polish several times in the past and it worked well.

I've never done it but... I use clear hot glue for almost everything that isn't going to be stressed much. I would think it would be perfect for this type of repair. It is fumeless, non-toxic and adheres well. I like the wax fix too because it is more natural. Nail Polish, Yikes!
