Info on the Golden Laced Wyandotte:
We got her 3/24/10 as a day old chick from a feed store that Privett Hatchery supplies.
He was sold as a pullet.

She is smaller than the SLW but the feathering and growth change is the same.

At 5.5 wks he developed a comb and wattles.
Soon after the metallic green of the black feathers came in...

Thank you both for all your help.
Math Ace- we were trying to get good pics of side, head, & top as recommended. After I took all the pics on 4/14 of all the girls, I realized that the side view should include the legs too, which weren't showing when the girls were perching. I'll post updated pics in a week or two, trying to keep in mind the 3 shots to have. It's much easier in theory. They don't hold still to well! Haha!

Sure looking like a roo.

Oh by the way - - my GLW is much smaller than my SLW too. They are 6 months old now - - both pullets.

I wonder if that is typical for the breed ? ? ? ?

THE PICTURES are much bigger this time - - good job getting them uploaded and enlarged for my OLD eyes

Our little GLW is now 11 wks old. We put him up on CL (& BYC!) this weekend.

I just got a response from someone on CL that said he looked like a pullet to her.

What would you think? Is it still possible that he's a she even with the secondary sex characteristics?

He really is low in the pecking order right now (all 6 chickens are the same age).

Looks like it still could be a pullet. Check the Wyandotte thread to see some of the combs and wattles on the hens. Don't give "her" away yet!

I really don't see anything that looks rooish. Body type and feathering look female. Comb and wattles aren't overly developed for 11 wks imo.

Good luck!
