GLW at 13 weeks????? PICS -What tipped you off?

She's the most beautiful chicken I have, so glad she's a she. I had two, but because of my stupidity my dog got one as a chick. I wish I had more. All my other birds were carefully researched as to size of eggs, not very broody, hardiness, etc. (BR, Welsummer and Astralorp). But her I bought simply because I saw a picture of the breed and fell in love. I still haven't looked to see what her traits are because I don't wanna know, just wanna look at her.

I want more next year.

Definitely a pullet, I have 5 just like her!

ETA: Just wanted to let you know that I also have a SLW, and she is the biggest sweetheart out of all of my girls. She will let you pic her up and carry her around, and when you're outside, she'll follow you around like a puppy. OH.... and she likes to yell at you if you're not paying her much attention. LOL! My GLW's are still pretty much "teenagers" (4 months), so they aren't very social right now, but that will change. You will be thrilled with her!

I also buy chicks from Cackle Hatchery. They are awesome! As a matter of fact, that's where I got my "Golden Girls" from.

Also, hens can grow spurs too. I have several in my flock with spurs. They're just not as impressive as the mature roosters' spurs.

Yours is a gorgeous pullet!

I have a "rescue" GLW who is a few years old and quite the Grand Dame. GLWs are prettier than SLWs (don't tell my Silvia SLW this, though!)

Well, I think I could have saved everyone a lot of trouble if I had gone online and looked for pictures of roosters. It wasn't til the comment about the obvious color that I got curious and started doing searches other than here (where I found no pics). I assumed the roosters looked the same except for comb/wattle differences until they started getting sickle feathers. Silly me.
