Or is it too early to tell? We purchased this bird as a singleton, its sister had already been sold as a sure pullet. The breeder was not sure whether this one is a boy or a girl. It is less than 8 weeks old but I forgot to ask its hatch date. It is not fully feathered yet, lots of quills under the wings and at the rump.

I can upload and post another pic of just its face if that might help.

Well, that will certainly disappoint DS10 if you are correct. He insists on referring to it as a she.....its name is Pot Pie.

I think I will remain here in denial until it is fully feathered (but I do agree those wattles do look mighty red in the photo).

Well, since it seems to be unanimous I will begin trying to rehome him. He has such a sweet face, it's a pity, but we are in the city and the law says NO to chickens that crow.

Yes, at 8-9 weeks looking like that it's a roo.... we have a GLW pullet and two SLW pullets that are 9-10 weeks and our GLW doesn't have any red in the comb or waddles neither do the two SLWs...sorry but you've got a boy there.
