GLW with a single comb?

Hey guys,
Interesting comb question.

I bought 2 GLW day-old chicks from TSC.
They are about 20 weeks now.
Both are indeed, GLW, but one of them has a single comb.
How is this possible.
Might she not be pure bred?

First two pictures are the rose comb one. And second 2 are the single comb.

It is possible to get a single comb from hatchery stock. I had some SLW from TSC a few years ago and one of them had a single comb.

Huh. It’s kinda neat. I like how the single red makes her other colors pop!

One of my two GLW from TSC has single comb, the other four from Rural King do not.

I think her and another similar looking one are blue laced red wyandotte's, rural king sold them as GLW.

I also got a few big black ones instead of barred rocks from RK.

That sounds about right on the breed mix ups

They had a large selection and inept employees so its not surprising.

I like them anyway, especially the big black girls.
