So glad to see the snow finally melting. It's 40 degrees so far here today. Not raining too bad - more of a misty drizzle. The chickens and guineas are finally out of their house. They have been locked up for 3 weeks. They hate it. I've been getting only 2 eggs a day from 15 hens. I guess they are letting me know that they are extremely displeased with being locked up. I let them out for the first time yesterday and I got 5 eggs. Hopefully I get more today!

I've got chicks on my brain and it's getting harder and harder to resist ordering some. I don't have the space this time of year but I want babies!! Been tossing around the idea of starting hatching now or ordering some so when April rolls around to the first poultry swap I host of 2011 I have some older chicks closer to laying... but space... alas what is a chicken lover supposed to do.............

Anyone else feeling like I do?
