If the goat is acting normally don't worry about it. If a goat is starting to show symptoms of entero, she may be restless, she will get up and lie down, she may stretch, and push her head against the wall. The stomach usually feels tight, may appear bloated, she will quit eating, and she may cry out in pain. The only effective treatment is a dose of clostridium perfingens antitoxin. What other symptoms should I be looking for?
I lived in an area of California where entero was so very common (probably due to the pH of the soil) that if a goat appeared off we treated her for entero first and then worried about what else may be wrong with her. Two items I always had in my medicine chest were an up-to-date bottle of clostridium perfingens antitoxin and some Gas X for bloat. I considered the antitoxin to be cheap insurance and Gas X is a safe and very effective treatment for bloat. I do suggest you keep GasX on hand. It is very inexpensive and when you need it you need it NOW. Goats can and do bloat at any hour of the day or night for whatever goaty reason they can come up with. Gas X is a lot safer than the usual treatments like oil, etc.
