Goat Experts - Buying Goat Advice Please

Would it be wise to only get one pregant goat and one that is not? If they usually have multiple births, I could end up with lots of goats - like going from 2 to 8.

Thank you all. I'm so very excited.

I hope these are as pretty as Miss Prissy's goats. I love her cream colored ones.

Glad I know these next couple weeks will go very fast as I have hundreds of pounds of candy to make. (literally)

On average I would guess you will get 2 babies from the doe. Get one not bred to keep her company. At best you most likely will have 3 - 4 goats by late spring or early summer.

I'll make sure I tell Lilah how pretty you think she is! LOL

Excellent goat advice you have received! I would make sure they have been recently (within the week) dewormed before you take them home. Also, check around your area to find a vet that sees small ruminants if you haven't already. Not that goats aren't healthy with proper preventative health care, but whenever I get a new kind of animal I have so many worries and questions that knowing all the emergency info ahead of time helps me to rest easier! Good luck in your search!
