Just got a mom and 2 kids. Does anyone know what kind of goats they are?

Thanks lacy.

We're going to start milking her as soon as she gets used to us. She just started eating from my hand, but then backs off. I'm still nervous about predators with the 2 kids, so luckily she stays pretty close to the barn.

I agree with Lacy (Lacy, isn't it you who has a pretty wether?).

Momma looks pretty thin, even for a dairy breed. I'd throw the alfalfa to her, gradually of course. It will help with her milk production, too.

Here's a great site about milking goats:

Talks all about milking, breeding, everything husbandry.

They're beautiful! I love solid white goats (so I ask myself, why don't I have any??)

This thread has come back to life at a timely point.

I got to the point where I couldn't look after the goats. The drinking water was freezing over in the barn and I had to drive back and forth from the city to the country due to work, children etc. So, the doe went back to the original owner to be bred. And the kids............

Happily, the 3 chickens are in my backyard in the city. Not overly happy, but still giving me a couple of eggs a day.
