Hey Folks I have bought my wife a Pygmy Goat now, the house I built the goat is on a small incline hill nothing major. We dug a ditch on the north side of the house if your looking at it to keep the water from coming into the house. It has helped a lot but still a bit comes in. We have a dirt floor in it We need help figuring out what to put down to let the water drain off. We also want to use a deep litter method, Gravel is expensive and we would like to find something else to use. Can we use wood shavings then pile straw on top etc. Please help us as we are so confused :-)
Thank you All

I used paving stones in my goat house. I got the 12x12 payvers and layed on the ground and put a little sand over to fill the joints. It helps keep hofes wore down and is easy to clean as I use old hay or what the goats pull out and don't eat. I use a ice chipper to scrape and then a broom and shovle. After cleaning I compost with outher compost for garden. I did level the pavers some what to flat but not exacley flat. Hope this helps. 1 old hen

I second the pallets. Choose ones with slats tightly together so she does not break a leg between them.

Also, is this goat being kept alone? As in, it is a single goat with no other companion?

It was by itself for about 4 months then we got another then another and another lol now we have 4 lol
