Goat not eating grain and soft stool

Oh yeah... sorry, getting oldtimers disease and forgot that comment while trying to remember everything else. Wanted to get my post up while the OP was still online , rather than it possibly being hours before she'd see it. I remembered something else as well and just came back to ETA (edit to add) it.

Regarding the FAMACHA score card... it's not something that you can just "order" and get it sent to you. There's training required to receive the card, and you have to prove you've been through the training to get it. Now, you can "print off a copy" of the card and be "close" to the actual coloration shown, but it won't be exact.

That being said, close is better than nothing and white inner eye membranes is very bad and may even be too late. As long as they are a healthy pink to light red, there shouldn't be a blood sucking worm issue (anemia). When they start lightening up, it's time to start thinking fecal test.

To the OP, you can send a msg to @ BYC support or @ Nifty-Chicken (site(s) owner) to explain the issue you're having signing up with BYH and they should be able to help you.

Now, to go back to my orig post an fixe nuerous mispellings. ;)

Going to to keep trying the backyard herds. I was only able to find 2 vets open today and neither would do it. No others open till Monday. Still diarrhea but brown and don't see any blood. I don't want to treat blindly but scared to wait

Do you have a goat dairy or goatkeepers with large herds in your area? If so, they probably do their own fecals..Just might do fecals for your goats, too. I did my own and for the neighboring farms. A source for getting labwork done will help you avoid lots of worry and frustration.

I did have a vet who was wonderful but has retired and moved. Only know one other goat keeper and he's having the same problem. She has now gone off from the others and just laying by herself

I've seen what equipment to run your own fecals at home but I wouldn't know what I'm looking at. I'm gonna keep on looking but being the weekend it's tougher than normal

The most important thing you can do right now is make sure she drinks. I have never met a goat that wouldn't drink Gatorade.
Doing fecals is not difficult...pics are on internet or you can get a book of "worms".

I need to order that but by the time I get it a vet may be open. My husband is assuring that she gets more water in her. She's only been sick for a day but I'm worried sick because this particular goal is extremely special to me. And the fact that she didn't really want to get up at the end of the day. Just kind a want to lay around
