I have a first time freshener that kidded Sun evening. She started having diarrhea yesterday. So far she is bright and alert, eating, drinking, normal temp and milk production is holding and (she has dumped some each time) I think even increasing. I went ahead and dewormed her since she was due for it. Has anyone had this happen after kidding?

I have had it happen (I always deworm after they kid), I think some from licking the afterbirth, or if they eat placenta (I usually get that out if I am around), plus they drink a lot of water and the body has to adjust to that also. You might want to not grain this am, just hay and see how she is this afternoon.

What does the diarreah look like? Green? Brown? Clumpy? Loose? Those will help you figure out where to start. Have you taken her temperature?

Most people say to deworm a doe the day after she kids then follow up 10 days later. They are very susceptible to everything after going through kidding so it wouldn't be a bad idea to deworm her anyway.

ETA - oops. Saw that you said you did deworm her already.

Crazy I was online earlier and I didn't see your post.

Temp is normal, gums are pink, and is still quite vocal and demanding. Lol
Diarrhea is a little lighter than the normal color with a consistancy of slighty runny pudding. (Sorry for those I ruined pudding for)

Here's a good starting place to see what it could be. I literally googled goat diarreah and there's a bunch of websites you can go on to.

Since she's not off otherwise, I'd chaulk it up to labor stress for now and monitor her. Give her some electrolyes to make sure she's staying hydrated and if you want, give her a baking soda drench. Baking soda helps soothe the rumen and calm down what ever is causing her to get all funky. If it is a worm issue, the baking soda won't help, but it also won't hurt. Can you have a fecal test done? That way you can rule out worms....

Some people give goats pepto bismol but I'm not one of them so I can't help you there. But I have given goats mineral oil to, ahem, speed things out. I'm not sure I'd recommend doing that since she's already got the runs- mineral oil will just make her go even more and even messier.

Do keep her off grain or on as little as possible and make sure she's got fresh hay and water.

You said her gums were pink...what about her eye lids? Have you checked them against a FAMACHA chart?
