I've had goats most of my childhood, now I'm a newby at having them as an adult. What are you referring to when you say check the ligaments? I have 2 does due around Halloween and I'm not sure what your talking about.
Please explain... Thanks!

It has to do with the ligaments on the rump on either side of the tail. When you can no longer feel them, kidding is very close. If it makes you feel any better, I bred dairy goats for over 40 years and I never did figure out the ligament thing.

It really isn't that difficult to find and once you do you will wonder why you thought it was difficult. Follow fiasco. Thats where I learned.

I agree.. Fiasco Farm's site is one of The Best!.. and once you notice the ligaments go when your doe goes into labor .. you'll know what their saying. .. Good Luck!

Thanks soooo much "Epona", that web site was great. Now I feel confident that I can feel for them and I know where to feel. Thanks again everyone for your help. I'm going to go out and practice, my poor doe is going to wonder what the heck I'm doing to her
