Goats Go Maaaa Humblestead

Thanks for the tips. I definitely need them. I do have 2 laying Golden Comets and 2 sebrights that just started laying the cutest little eggs ever. The 2 pullets from the batch of seven we hatched will hopefully start in December.
Exciting, I love the tiny eggs. My Salmon Fav just started too. I have some December point of lay babies too.

Glad to meet you, Rita, and sorry for the rough start. We do have a forum for "other pets and livestock" and plenty of folks here have goats, rabbits, etc., in addition to the many birds covered. Here is a whole discussion by folks who keep both. But you may also want to check the sister site Back Yard Herds to get more depth.

Here is my favorite intro to chicken keeping article. It covers a lot, so it may help. You can find lots of other articles for yourself, as Idaho Chicken Bungalow says, or you can use the SEARCH button and then choose ARTICLES from the results to see if there are articles on your topic. You may have to monkey around with your words sometimes. And it's always wise to BOOKMARK any articles you find really useful! If you can't figure out how, ask.

Hey. Thank you. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to fill me in.

It's been quite an experience with a number of fails! Biggest fail was having our chicken's food available to our goats to get into...Jeffrey almost died. Another was hatching our own eggs, raising the 7 chicks like they were my own babies and ending up with 5 roosters that we couldn't keep 😔. So much to learn. Very thankful for BYC!
Welcome to BYC!!
