My goat keeps getting his head stuck in a fence panel that can't be more then a 4 inch square he is named Lightning and he has horns. Lightning fits his whole head and horns into a 4 inch square. I almost had to cut the wire to unstick him and I don't know how to keep him from getting stuck.

Unfortunately you can't use fence panels with horned goats. It will continue to stick its head through the fence. Either dehorn him, or put a smaller fence over the top so he can't stick his head through.

Ugh! I learned that the hard way years go with a nanny I had. When I had to cut her out of the field fencing during a hail storm, that was the end! Off to the sale barn with her and her kid! :(

My Tessa has me well trained. She sticks her head through a panel or woven wire fence and YELLS at me until I come out and help her. I always wear gloves -- to protect me from the fence and her horns -- and have always been able to EVENTUALLY twist her head back through the way she came.

Tessa makes it harder because her impulse is to walk forward -- apparently she believes she can fit her entire self through the fence -- while I am pushing her backward.

Although I have been tempted -- because it would be much faster -- I have never yet had to damage a fence or Tessa. BTW, her nickname is short for "Contessa," reflecting her entitled behavior.
