My Tessa has me well trained. She sticks her head through a panel or woven wire fence and YELLS at me until I come out and help her. I always wear gloves -- to protect me from the fence and her horns -- and have always been able to EVENTUALLY twist her head back through the way she came.
Tessa makes it harder because her impulse is to walk forward -- apparently she believes she can fit her entire self through the fence -- while I am pushing her backward.
Although I have been tempted -- because it would be much faster -- I have never yet had to damage a fence or Tessa. BTW, her nickname is short for "Contessa," reflecting her entitled behavior.
