Hi

I have 6 hickens living in a 4x8 coop- but no run yet. I just watch over them as I let them out during the day. I will get a run though- a fairly big one to. 12x20. I was wondering if I could house a goat or too ( mabey some sheep as well) in a 3 wall shelter in the run? (they wounldn't have acess to the chicken feed.

I think that will be too small for the hoof stock. (in addition there would be the risk of the chickens getting stepped on) Nice sized run for the chickens, though.

I would say no - here's why...

1) They WILL find a way into the food - if the chickens can get in there, the goats probably will too

2) I lost a chick because of a goat trying to get into the chicken feed - the goat crushed her when he stepped on her.

Other than that they got along fine, but I don't think I would chance a chicken getting trapped and killed by a goat. Good luck whatever you decide.
