Some things are better not to overthink. Louse infestations are one of them. Your best bet is just a good dusting with louse powder. Personally, I would not bathe the kids. If they get chilled you are just asking for a case of pneumonia. Besides it isn't necessary. The powder will take care of the lice. One thing to keep in mind about ivermectin is that it kills either sucking lice or biting lice but not both. Since I never knew whether the lice my goats had were sucking lice ot biting lice I just powdered them. Problem solved. I also clipped my whole herd in late spring and that went a long way toward getting rid of lice.
