I'm so happy to find such a knowledgeable community of cluckers. I haven't had chickens since I was in high school. Hubby never wanted them, but now that he's gone, if I can't have him, I'll have the chickens. A lot has changed in the chicken world since the 60's, and I'm loving all the posts and articles here. My baby NH Reds and Barred Plymouth Rocks arrive April 22 and May 20 respectively. I've made a few poor purchases, and am rethinking how I want to brood them. Thank you all for your wonderful ideas. My great neighbors are helping retrofit an existing shed for a coop with attached run, and I have a chicken tractor to hopefully keep down the tick population around here. It'll be a journey, and I'm looking forward to it.
