going Broody?

ok i've never had a broody hen so please don't get frustrated with me...anyway last spring i got bbr old English chicks and i ended up keeping just 1 hen...well she just laid her first eggs the last 3 days and usually when i go in the pen she runs, now i've noticed since she laid the eggs she stands near by and watches me like a hawk and it looks like her butt feathers are poofy...i didn't notice it before...do u think she is possibly going broody...by the way i just left her eggs in the nest since she acted like she didnt want me to take them

You won't know for sure until she begins to spend most of the day in a nest. Eventually she will say the whole day and night on the nest, and that is when you will know for sure.

Sounds like a broody. I have one thats almost been broody for 40 days! I got welsumer eggs under her. Shes a RIR but she cares for them. I love my cazy girls!
