Start image. Pay no attention to the temp/humidity here. I was adjusting for the first set.

This is where I am now. 50 becomes 40 and 40 becomes 20, etc...

Current temp 99.1 F, 75% humidity.

Sorry, 20 eggs in lock down mode. I will check for pips tomorrow. Target hatch date 021910.

I was expecting this. If 10 hatch I will be fine with it, but I'm thinking only about 5 will make it out. I will know more tomorrow.

Tomorrow has come...day 16 and no pips, so it will not only be a poor hatch, it will be late.

coturnix quail seem to always start on day 17 and end on day 19... don't care what anybody else tells me, this has been done repeatedly here at my house

I have never had any hatch on day 17, I tend to under cook coturnix, so I'm not surprised I haven't had a 17 day hatch.
It's my experience that chicks pip, and take 2 days off, then hatch, so pips on day 16=hatch on day 18. I generally get the bulk of my hatch between 18 and 19 days.

Good news: I see a few pips!

I apologize for asking questions I know are covered elsewhere, but it is hard to wade through the 59 page sticky note to find answers to specific questions. Can someone confirm my accuracy on the following? I will be starting my first ever hatch in 2 weeks.

Temp (Little Giant with fan and turner): 99.7 degrees F
Lock down: Beginning of day 14
Candling: Days 7 and 10

My humidity in the incubator is around 30%. I know there are a lot of different opinions on this issue. I intend not to add any water to the channels in the bottom of the bator until lockdown. Then I will remove the trays, fill the channels with water, cover the wire with a slip proof drawer fabric and hope for the best. Should I leave the two red plugs in or out before and after lockdown? What temperature do I use during lockdown?
