THEY ARE HERE............. ok 22 chicks have hatched 5 more have pipped and 1 more is zipping as I post this. I lost one and 15 are not doing anything yet. It has been a very busy day had lots of friends and family come by the house to see them , all were amazed , 2 of the families are talking about getting thier on chickens now and I hope they can function on little or no sleep. My eyes are red ,my head is pounding , my feet are throbbing and my heart is overflowing with pride. Thanks to all of my BYC friends for all your help and answers to my new guy questions. One of the first people I asked a chicken question on here told me the only stupid question was the one you were scared to ask. Thanks again here are my babies.

MORE TO COME ...

2 out of 8 hatched so far for me. One was a little shrink wrapped near the head and one wing. It was taking forever to hatch 2+ days, I helped it out and had to soak the membrane several times to release the dried on membrane. Looks good now. Very active little buggers. Cheep Cheep Cheep. Trying to keep the humidity up to make sure the shrink wrap thing doesn't happen again!

My eggs were due to hatch on sunday the 6th 29 hatched out of 44 that went into lock down ,they started the day of lockdown . 1 died insides on the outside . Out of the 15 remaining eggs 12 were infertile/ never started to develop at all and 3 had really small like as big as a dime chicks in them . No way of knowing what caused this but I think thats pretty good for the first hatch ,and the fact that I was so nervous ,I have completely recovered from the sllep deprovation and have been playing with the 28 most beautiful little chicks .
