Going on Vacation with eggs in the bator

I have some going into lock down on Monday, and we will be going camping this weekend, but I will be leaving them unattended cause as I said, I see no problems from not turning for a day or 2 late in incubation, it's more important during the first 10 days. I really can't wait though, these were my first shipped eggs, the chickens that I've always wanted, they are high quality silver laced bantams. What did you hatch?

I don't think my broody turned her eggs for the first 10 days and half of them hatched. I'm convinced that eggs just hatch regardless of what we do.

We turned the eggs under the broody for about a week and all turned out well. The eggs were even the very first eggs payed by our pullets.

The eggs that I had in the bator didn't hatch as well as I thought they would but I don't think going on vacation had anything to do with it. We ended up with 18 chicks out of about 30 eggs. Many of those quit at the end.

I hatched Amrraucanas.

Have a nice vacation :)
