Going to dispatch roosters what to do with innards?

I wouldn't do it. Feeding animals back to their kind can perpetuate and spread disease in the flock. I just don't think it's a good practice. For me.

You probably could compost them, but I burn it ALL. I was actually surprised by the feathers- I use a whizbang plucker, so when I get rid of my feathers, I have big piles of soaking wet, filthy feathers. I throw them all in in a pile, and haven't really noticed a smell- although feathers do smoke a little bit (just white smoke though.) If you were burning one carcass at a time, and had a hot fire, I'd be shocked if you smelled anything at all. I just did 37 birds in a few hours, and I'll never go back to burying the leftovers. Burying them is aweful, and if you don't go deep enough, it'll be even more aweful when the animals dig it back up! You've got to try the burn barrel.
