My father just got home from work out of state he's been gone 3 months now. And When I told him that only 7 out of the 25 Straight run of chicks I bought at the swap meet are pullets, he said he would come by and help me build a brooder then we could go by Estes Hatchery And get some more pullets. I told him 10-15 would be enough for me but He insists on a number in the 50-75 range!!!!!

So I am really psyched up. I can't wait I just have no clue what kind to get I have been to the Estes Web site And they Have somewhat of A limited selection. My dad says that it was the only place he would ever buy chicks from and they were always of good quality and they gave him a good deal, BUT that was over 20 Years ago soooooo..... Just wondering If anyone has bought from them? Thanks.

If your Dad is going to build the brooder with you and wants to get them from Estes, I personally think it is a great deal. The selection is a bit limited but I think you will be very pleased with a mix of what is there. Don't overthink it. You'll be happy with whatever you decide. I'll admit though, I kept changing my mind on the breeds until I had to order. That's part of the fun.

Good luck!
