I think that Golden Laced Wyandottes were crossed to Black Orpingtons.

so is the gold laced project dead? The wife and I have recently decided to get into gold laced. So far, I have a laying trio from Sacre lines which are arguable in coloration. I have read that ideally, you want black base with a green sheen. Has anyone achieved this yet with them? I've talked with Vicki Servi a little and will be getting some of her birds. The wife and I are wanting to start showing next year and would like to add this variety to our contestants. Has anyone taken the time to write an example SOP for the APA to try to get them accepted? ( I believe that's the procedure isn't it?)

Morning all my fellow golden laced orpington buddies I have 1 pair of golden laced orpingtons. 8 chicks hatched 2 weeks ago 3 are a dark black chick with nice lacing and the other 5 are more caramel/brown.

I've just had 3 Golden Laced Orpingtons hatch. 1 is very buff yellow and 2 are black with lighter almost golden breasts and bellies!
