Help, please! We need to know if our little "Pipsqueak" is a roo? Hoping she's a pullet! Approx. 8 weeks old.

Well, I'm certainly no expert, but I have a couple of GLWs that are 13 weeks old this week and both their combs and wattles are still small and pink. Your Pipsqueak is only 8weeks old and already showing darker pink and more of it on the face. I think you have a roo!

Here's my Frederika at 8 weeks for comparison

And this is Fred and her sister Josephine yesterday at 13 weeks. Still a light pink color in the face, and wattles just beginning to grow.

I hope I'm wrong. Maybe some of our experts will confirm one way or the other. I just love my Wyandottes. I think they're going to be big beautiful girls! I want to get a couple of Blue laced reds next spring!

Thank you jmchurch01! They are pretty girls. I love 'em! I got all my birds from the local feed store. They order from Belt Hatchery in Fresno. They were supposed to get some light brahmas in a couple weeks ago, but they didn't get their order in in time or something. They told me they'd have them in hopefully in Feb. I got 10birds from them, all from Belt, and I'm pretty sure I've got all girls. Pretty darn good odds, I think! They tell us they're 90% chance of being females, on all their birds. I also got 2 BRs, 2 EEs, 2 BSLs and 2 white silkies. I missed out on the Polish Cresteds and the black silkies. I'm just lovin' these girls. They're great therapy! I lost my job last yr and am having a hard time finding one. These girls help to keep me from getting too depressed.

No that cockerel doesn't seem to have any wyandotte in it at all to me. Looks like an easter egger cockerel to me.
