Gold Laced Wyandotte Hen or Rooster?

Hello everyone! We have several gold laced Wyandotte’s and I have one sweetie whom I am very attached to. It’s about 3 weeks old, and I’ve noticed that it’s comb looks a lot different than my other chicks of the same breed. It’s name is Hawkeye, and Hawkeye’s comb seems to be a lot larger and is already turning a reddish tint, and I’m thinking Hawkeye is a rooster? Is anyone very familiar with Wyandotte’s that can give me their opinion please?

I would agree you probably have a rooster there. That comb should turn pink in the next week or two.

You have a cockerel on your hands. He won't be a rooster until he's a year old.

Odd comb for a Wy......but I would say male for sure, unless all that red is from exertion/excitement at being held.

It's most likely a cockerel. Post pics of the comb at 8 weeks.

Definitely a cockerel! Looks a lot like one of mine before I rehomed him. He's a cutie for sure!
